Migrants crossing the channel
Chris Philp has revealed how he confronted French police after they stood and did nothing to stop migrants boarding dinghies for England.
Writing for the Sunday Express, the Shadow Home Secretary tells all about his trip across the Channel to France this week.
He drew sharp criticism from the Government and French authorities over the visit, which saw him publish footage showing dozens of migrants boarding dinghy
The footage also appears to show two French law enforcement officers telling him they had orders not to intervene.
Mr Philp writes: "What I saw was extraordinary."

Britain and France agreed to a three-year plan to curb irregular Channel crossings, a French interior ministry roadmap showed on Wednesday. France will boost coastal policing by over 50 percent to 1,400 officers by 2029, while Britain will provide up to €766 million in funding, partly conditional on results.
Let us look back a few years.
Chris Philip was an MP under a Boris Johnson government not much shouting about immigration there, how many times do we hear opposition MPs from any party who were once in in the cabinet of a government, did nothing then but blame everyone else now

Latest statement in response to small boat crossings
Home Office news team, 30 June 2026 - Reactive statements
A Home Office spokesperson said:
“This Government is bearing down on small boat crossings, with removals of small boat migrants at record levels and asylum claims down by 12%.
“The Home Secretary has signed a landmark new deal with France to boost enforcement action on beaches and put people smugglers behind bars. This builds on joint work that has stopped over 44,000 attempted crossings since the election.
“We have removed or deported almost 70,000 people who were here illegally – an increase of 41% – and are going further to remove the incentives that draw illegal migrants to this country.”

Shadow home Secretary Chris Philip
There are 650 Members of Parliament (MPs) in the UK House of Commons. Costing the taxpayer
£64,089,350 per year that is just the basic salary.
As we all know MPs claim expenses, and yes nobody should work and pay out of their own pockets for staff and offices that they need to do their job we all know this because none of us would do it ourselves. You can all check what your MP is claiming and yes it is a watering, it is my belief that there are things on every entry list of what they are claiming should not be there, for example a a mobile phone, television license. The bigger one of all is of course travelling expenses the only working man woman cannot claim travel expenses to go to work, I wonder if MPs had to pay travelling expenses to go to work would they not be so annoyed about the cost of petrol and diesel rail fares parking I wonder if things would change in that respect.
The other big concern is accommodation in London when they travel to London it's costing the taxpayer millions and millions of pounds a year, isn't it a about time for the UK government built a hotel near to the House of Commons to accommodate travelling MPs I wonder how much this would save the taxpayer.

Wars
Every day you read the newspapers listen to the news, even look at the internet you find war.
What is that most every leader that I can remember has always wanted to go to war be it locally internationally or dare I say it world wide.
The Ukrainian and Russian war everybody wants a piece of it, everybody wants to get involved why?, America is and are so are we involved in this war who told the British government that they got a supply the Ukraine with aid to help in their war. The war against Iraq led by the Americans supported by the British but was the question asked in the House of Commons, to help the Americans in any way to fight Iran is in fact joining in the war.
That’s all we heard about today is those nasty Russians, let us not forget, during the last World War Russia lost 6 million men fighting on our side they can’t be that bad can they.
The ongoing genocide of Gaza by the Israelis and the world stands by, is it not sad when we read and see hundreds and hundreds of people getting killed, hospitals being bombed children being killed whole communities being destroyed a whole country to be destroyed. Why should the world stand by and watch this happening. Is it right that the world stands by and does nothing.
American Iran war why did America attack Iran? was it because they are answering to above masters, was it because they thought they’d have some monetary return, or was it because they thought that planet the whole planet go into a disastrous situation, prices are rising food is not being produced all because of oil being stopped coming through the Persian Gulf. Who says who is to blame for all of this is it right to sit back and do nothing, say nothing I know in today’s world you must be careful what you say today you must be careful what you think.
I am not anti-Israeli I am not anti American I am not anti Ukraine I am not anti Iraq Iran or any other country in the world, so please why can’t we all just live in peace.
Where will it all end?
What have the country done to deserve this pair?

Andy Burnham’s successor as mayor of Greater Manchester has suggested she will undo Margaret Thatcher’s legacy.
Bev Craig hinted that she would look to reverse the “deindustrialisation” of the 1970s and 1980s after winning Thursday’s Manchester mayoral election for Labour. What a statement! A great number of the people in Greater Manchester could not tell who Margaret Thatcher was, even in the UK a large number doesn't know who Thatcher was.
Her remarks echo Mr Burnham’s indication that he will take Britain back decades with state intervention in the markets, mass social housing and a new focus on technical education.
Technical education! does not bring 1000 of jobs I fear not, we are entered an age of AI the idea of hundreds and 1000 of people working in factories and on building sites has long gone, it's plain and simple to take this country back decades we must first get out of the mess that this country is in, a quick look at the debt clock to shows how bad the country is doing let us not forget helping other countries is a damn good thing right, charity begins at home. let us not forget the 1.87 million people that are not working in this country (as of March to May 2026) children that go to school hungry every day, working people have to go into food banks so they can have enough food to feed their Families we are in one hell of a mess in this country it's time the party system was abolished let us stop fighting amongst each other let us try to work together for a change and bring this country back to where it belongs.

The illegal entry into the UK is an embarrassment
This Madness Must Stop
People are dying and the UK And France stands bye is it not time that the organisers (if you can call them that ) were delt with and delt with now. People know who they are and they are getting well paid of the misery of despairing people.
Both the UK and French Government are complicit while they sit back and let this madness continue.
Net Zero Myth Or Reality
Let us face it, is net zero an actual target that can be achieved ? What is the actual reason for the net zero to save the planet, to put people out of work, to make sure that everyone on the planet is following the rules that other people decide, people we don't know people who think they rule the world, I think net zero in fact is impossible, are people relying too much on the magic of AI, does AI feed the world? without oil producing energy the world cannot survive as it is today, and that's not pie in the sky that's fact we need oil for everyday life in this country and the rest of the world. A lot of people in the UK think that it is best for the UK that we stop producing oil, of course the only way to achieve net zero is to stop producing oil and other fossil fuels, to have net zero would be a catastrophe, not only would it put 1000 of people out of work but it would stop hundreds of people producing food we need oil we need the products that oil produce and it is in my opinion it is better for the planet and its population stop this nonsense of net zero.
Why is it that some corrupt countries aren't and rave about stop producing an oil and contaminating the atmosphere yes I agree there is too much muck going into this in into this our atmosphere yes I agree that it hurts and yes I agree that it from the planet, but let us take things in perspective in the UK there is group of people 30 odd in my opinion fanatical about a net zero.
Not only is it in the UK that these groups are evolve all over the world and yes we see one of the biggest polluters of our planet is the USA see What dose the future hold.
